Born into a family of gun-runners in the early 1970s, I was the only survivor of doomed mission in Africa at the tender age of four. Strapped into the only parachute, I was jettisoned by my mother over the Kalahari, minutes before our bullet-ridden cargo plane plummeted into a herd of gazelles. Raised by a wandering tribe of Bushmen, I grew to become an elite rhino wrestler in my teens. After settling the vendetta I swore against my family's betrayers, I immigrated to the United States, where I earned a bachelor's degree in journalism, wrote about technology for 10 years and more recently went to work as communications director for a civil liberties group.
